Kara Savio is an award winning journalist, freelance writer, documentary producer, television and radio news anchor, model and actor. She attended Indiana State University and went on to Columbia College and Webster University as a Broadcast Journalism Major.
Kara’s career has taken her to Chicago, St. Louis and St. Joseph, Missouri, where she anchored and produced the morning news program “Daybreak” for ABC affiliate KQTV. Kara has worked as a radio news anchor and drive-time traffic reporter and as a writer and reporter for a national news wire service. Recently Kara co-hosted the radio show “The Healthy Beauty” on 1380 The Woman.
On television, her career has taken her from actor on a locally produced daytime drama to Emmy winning producer for St. Louis’ arts/culture/education channel HEC-TV. As host and producer of the live news magazine show “See Hear” on Charter Cable, Kara won a silver Telly Award and three bronze Tellys.
Currently, Kara produces features for HEC-TV and St. Louis City’s public information channel, STL-TV. She also does commercial and print work.
