For most, college is the most pivotal time in a young adult’s life. It is a moment of transition, where finding one’s self and clinging to the fragments of childhood imagination collide. It is the place where some finally find their voice and, where others, lose it in a sea of uncertainty and expectation.

These thoughts of conflict, self-determination and cloudy dream chasing resonate in the bars and lyrics of hip hop artist Dre’Co. While today’s urban mainstream boast of success and praises, Dre’Co’s heartfelt flow tells another tale. It paints a vivid picture of life before the glory. It’s the story of the come up.

St. Louis bred, Andrae’Co (Dre’Co) Craig’s earliest memories were of music and family. Whether it was his mother singing around the entire house or observing his grandmother’s passion for writing, Dre’Co became fascinated with the power of music and it’s ability to connect and unite. In his childhood years, Dre’Co would hone his writing skills while visiting his cousin, which would turn into long nights spent producing and writing songs to catch the beat.

But it was in college that Dre’Co found himself. Conflicted with following the path of a traditional nine to five or taking the road less traveled, the marketing major decided to chase dreams. With college as a platform for his art, Dre’Co aimed to provide a voice to millions of students; a poster child for the struggle of growing older and the changes incurred with time, heart ache and triumph.

Through methodical storytelling and mesmerizing crowd exposure, the introduction of Dre’Co to consumers serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration to listeners from coast to coast. Using university dormitories and college stages as a launch pad, Dre’Co’s lyrical gust, motivational flow and illustrious story telling is a crisp breeze in the heat of hip hop.

Dre’Co’s lifestyle music spreads a universal message from ear to ear. This word-of-mouth prophet provides a remarkable sound that will resonate in the hearts of listeners and, at the end of each track, make them better.
