Current Alderwoman of the 20th Ward, Cara Spencer is one of four candidates vying for the job. Spencer is the Alderwoman for the 20th Ward. She was born in South St. Louis City and currently resides in Marine Villa with her son, Cy. Known in St. Louis as someone who isn’t afraid to take on tough fights – Cara has challenged and beaten, powerful interests like the payday lending industry. She has also taken on politically connected slumlords by passing the “Holding Slumlords Accountable Act,” which removes an exemption from building codes.
