Cancer touches nearly every family, but what often goes unseen is the network of support working behind the scenes. For more than 50 years, the St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer has raised and distributed funds for cancer research, patient care and programs in the St. Louis area, including organizations like Camp Braveways, which brings joy and connection to children and families facing cancer and blood-related illnesses.
Host/producer Sarah Thompson talks to Anita Kraus, executive director of the St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer, and a Heather Bachman, executive director of Camp Braveways, about what support looks like, and the impact it has on families navigating incredibly difficult circumstances.
In the second half of the program, Anita Klaus highlights some of St. Louis Men’s Group Against Cancer’s grant recipients as well as upcoming fundraising events, including the Women’s Event “Sip, Shop & Support” on April 29 and how community involvement continues to support and move their work forward.
