Bridging the Gap: What next? :
Over the last couple of months, we have watched unrest in our area. In an effort to help settle tensions, and improve the quality of living for all residents in St. Louis, STL TV recently hosted a Town Hall forum, called Bridging the Gap: What next? The forum, moderated by STL TV’s Debbie Monterrey and Vern Fuller, intended to offer helpful and resourceful information for healing and moving forward in the wake of the outcry following the Michael Brown shooting. It is hoped that this discussion, and others like it ,will push St. Louis forward and encourage residents to be proactive in their communities to make St. Louis a better place for us all. Some of the topics discussed centered around issues like building better relationships between the police and the community; opportunities for training and employment; our education systems – the dropout rate and its impact on the community; the role of the church as a change agent, and how communities can work together to reduce crime.
Dr. Mati Hlatshwayo Davis, Director of Health for the City of St. Louis, talks about Worlds AIDS Day 2022. In its 34th year, World AIDS Day is a time to shed light on the disease, hear the stories of those impacted, and raise awareness. https://youtu.be/_mIwqDynEWM
